OPI Fiji Spring/Summer 2017
I am very excited to be sharing my review of the OPI Fiji collection for Spring/Summer 2017 as my premier blog post!
Below you will find swatches of all 12 of the new shades. All polishes were photographed with one coat of Seche Vite top coat. Details such as number of coats, general formula info, etc. will be included for each polish, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to leave me a comment and I will try to get back to you ASAP.
Due to the large number of photos, I have decided to make a separate comparison post. I will be sharing that soon and it will contain comparisons to other OPI polishes in my stash as well as polishes from other brands that were requested by you guys on Instagram.
Other than that, please enjoy!

I have a love-hate relationship with this polish. I love the color. It's pastel yet bright and perfect for Spring. Is it unique? Not really. But it's still a nice addition to my collection. The formula left much to be desired. I don't mind doing three coats of a polish, but the three coats I did for this weren't enjoyable. You can see on my ring finger where the polish didn't want to self level. It was sort of a gloopy, ridgey mess. Overall, I'd have to say I don't recommend this unless you are a collector. The color isn't unique enough to justify the formula. I don't regret purchasing it (mostly because I adore the name) but I am not sure how often I'll wear it because of the lackluster formula.

My thoughts on this polish basically echo my thoughts on 'Polly Want a Lacquer?' I'm in love with the color, don't like the formula. This is 3 difficult coats that didn't want to self-level and wanted to flood my cuticles and sidewalls (forgot to mention that for the other polish, the formulas for these two lighter colors were essentially the same for me). Can't recommend this one if you're looking for a stellar formula, but if you're in love with the color and are willing to put up with it, I say go for it.

Super Trop-i-cali-fiji-istic

Super Trop-i-cali-fiji-istic
First of all, dumb name. I'm usually a huge fan of OPI's names, but I can't help but shake my head at this one. 😆
Second, this polish has redeemed the collection for me. If you look at my posts for the two lighter colors I picked up, you'll see that I was not a fan of their formulas. This polish and the other darker one I picked up are a WHOLE different story. This applied so wonderfully. This is two coats, but it is definitely feasible in one coat. Also, the color is gorgeous. Not too much else to say about this one because it was the typical OPI formula that I know and love. If you had your eye on this one, I say go for it!
P.S. Some people's labels say "Super Trip-i-cali-fiji-istic." As if the name wasn't confusing enough already.

This polish is by far one of my favorites of the colletion. The name is hilarious, the color is stunning, and the formula is perfection! 😍 This polish is very similar to 'Super Trop-i-cali-fiji-istic' in that it's possible to get it opaque in one coat, but I chose to do two (I always do at least two coats). These two darker colors really blow the lighter two out of the water in terms of formula. Run, don't walk, to get this polish. You won't regret it!
P.S. Another gold star for this polish, it's not a stainer. At least for me. Had it on for 24 hours and fully expected it to stain me. The only thing I experienced was a little bit of color stuck to my sidewalls, but I was able to get it off with acetone.

Do You Sea What I Sea?

I wasn't amazed by this polish in the bottle, but once I got it on my nails I fell in love! 😍
This is a 2-3 coater with a beautiful shimmer finish. It's mainly blue, but it has flashes of either pink or purple hidden in it. The formula was very nice! Some polishes of this nature are extremely sheer, but this had nice coverage. Overall I am really pleased with this polish. It has a beautiful glowing quality to it, and though it isn't terribly unique, the pink/purple shimmers give it something a little different.

Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon

This is a lovely, cool toned light pink polish. The formula of this polish was thankfully not identical to the first two light polishes I tried (Polly Want a Lacquer? & Suzi Without a Paddle). While this did take three coats for opacity, I didn't have the issues that I did with those other two polishes. It wasn't too thick and it didn't create any ridges. However, you do have to worry about patchiness with this one. I kind of feel like that comes with territory of light pinks, though. This is a pretty nice polish in my opinion, and I think the finished product looks pretty good. Oh and the name is super cute.

Coconuts Over OPI

Coconuts Over OPI
This color is very hard to describe.. it's a tan/brown nude with both gray and yellow tones. It's pretty unique in my collection! It reminds me of toasted coconut, but it's probably just because of the name lol. This color would look amaaaazing on someone with a darker skin tone than me! It has a basic two coat cream formula and applied really nicely. I'll have comparisons to my other OPI nudes coming soon so you can see just how different this one is! This is probably one of my top picks from the collection.

I Can Never Hut Up

This polish is so. cool. I just love it. It's a medium gray polish with a lovely seafoam green shimmer. I'm so glad OPI added some creativity into the Fiji collection with this polish. The shimmer makes the polish look like a very grayed out seafoam green from far away. Up close you can see how multidimensional it is. Perfect two coat formula and it's somewhat of a "pearl" finish but there are absolutely no brushstrokes! 🙌
If you're an OPI collector, I think this is a must have! But of course if you're not, it's just a really lovely polish to wear. I imagine that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's one of my favorites from the collection by far.

Living On the Bula-vard!

This color is so juicy and delicious looking! It's a deep reddish orange with a nice two coat formula. This has too much orange in it to be considered a red in my book. Either way you classify it, it's gorgeous and perfect for summer. I have a feeling I'll be wearing this on my toes a lot this year! It's not the most unique polish ever, but I don't have an exact OPI dupe in my personal collection, so I'm not mad about it :)

No Tan Lines

No Tan Lines
This is a very warm, yellow-toned light orange with a super nice formula. Two easy coats for a super bright, shiny look on the nails. This color is the epitome of summer and the tropics for me. Best of all, it is very different from all of my other light orange polishes, and for that it's one of my top picks from the collection. Orange lovers, you need this one!

Right off the bat I just have to say that this reminds me of Velveeta. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I just always think of it when I look at this polish 😂 You know what? It's also pretty close to the color of emojis. So that's fun. 😊😁😍
This is a sunny yellow than leans to the deeper side (you'll see exactly what I mean when I post my comparison shot). It has a pretty typical yellow formula- three coats, kinda patchy, kinda finicky, but nothing unbearable. Overall it's a pretty solid yellow and a nice polish if you like bold colors on your nails. I will probably break this out mid-July before I get too sick of summer colors!

Last, but certainly not least, we have this gorgeous medium pink. This has a perfect two coat formula and I really really love it. The coolness in it makes it very wearable on my pink toned skin. I wore this to work today and it just made so happy to look down at my nails. 😍
Just from looking at the bottle, I expected to feel pretty "meh" about this one, but it was so special once I got it on my nails. I know I have a ton of favorites from this collection, but this is definitely another one of them! I recommend it!

Two-timing the Zones
So.. it's really hard for me to choose my favorites from the collection. I honestly really enjoyed it overall. Can I pick six favorites? Hahaha well I guess this is my blog, so I can if I want. My top six (in no particular order) are: "Is That a Spear In Your Pocket?," "I Can Never Hut Up," "Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon," "Two-timing the Zones," "No Tan Lines," and "Do You Sea What I Sea?" I know that I said "Coconuts Over OPI" might be one of my top picks, but as I think about it, I'm not crazy about how it looks on me personally. I totally and whole heartedly recommend it to someone with olive toned or tan skin, because I think it would look stunning!
Thank you so much for reading!
Beautifully colourful collection to kick off your blog! Excellent review & pictures! Congrats :)
